Our impact
Numbers that
matter.
Every pound rescued is a meal on someone's table. Here's what that looks like at scale.

Why it matters
The math is simple. The impact is profound.
40% of all food produced in the United States never gets eaten. Meanwhile, 47 million Americans — including 1 in 6 children — face food insecurity every day. These two crises don't have to coexist.
Sharing Excess was built on a simple belief: the food already exists. We just need to get it to the right people. Through our three rescue programs, we've built the infrastructure to do exactly that — at scale, across the country, every single week.
Stories from the field
Real people. Real impact.
"Before Sharing Excess, we were turning away families because we simply didn't have enough fresh produce. Now we receive deliveries three times a week. It's completely transformed what we can offer our community."
Maria Gonzalez
Executive Director
Philadelphia Community Food Bank
"We used to throw away hundreds of pounds of perfectly good food every week. Partnering with Sharing Excess means that food goes to families who need it — and our team feels genuinely good about where it ends up."
James Whitfield
Store Manager
Regional Grocery Partner
"The Direct Link program connected us with a local food pantry we didn't even know existed. Now we have a direct relationship, and the food gets there within hours of harvest. That freshness matters enormously."
